Set a logo and a profile picture

Purpose

Put your organisation's logo on the account and its public pages, and set your own profile picture.

Who this is for

Account administrators for the logo; any member for their own picture.

Sidebar Branding. There are two ways to set it, and one wins over the other.

Upload a file

  1. Choose Upload logo.
  2. Pick a PNG or JPG, up to 5 MB. Other formats are refused with "Please choose a PNG or JPG image."; oversized files with "Image is too large (max 5MB)."

The page confirms with "Logo uploaded." and shows a preview.

If instead you see an amber note reading "Logo uploaded … It will render once managed file storage is enabled for this environment", the upload succeeded but this environment cannot serve the bytes back yet. Use the URL option below until managed file storage is switched on.

Point at an image URL

Under Or use an image URL, paste an https:// address to an image you already host and choose Save URL. Clearing the field and saving removes it.

Which one wins: on this page, an uploaded logo takes precedence over the URL whenever both are set. Remove the uploaded logo — Remove uploaded logo, then confirm Remove logo, which deletes the stored file — to fall back to the URL.

Where the logo appears

  • The account header on your dashboard, next to the account name.
  • Public campaign and assessment pages, unless the campaign supplies its own image.

Use the URL option for anything public-facing. Those pages read the saved image URL directly; the Branding page, the report cover and your outgoing email apply the upload-wins rule. So an uploaded file logo is visible in those three places and not on the public pages, and uploading one does not clear a URL that is already set.

What reaches your emails

Invitations, reminders, acceptance letters and feedback notices carry:

  • Your logo, in place of the product wordmark at the top of the message. Resolved by the upload-wins rule above — and note the storage caveat: where this environment cannot serve an uploaded file publicly, the message shows the product wordmark rather than falling back to the URL, because the account said which logo it wants.
  • Your primary colour, on the message's button and on the wordmark, when it is set as a #rrggbb (or #rgb) value. Anything else is ignored rather than guessed at.

Everything else in the message — the text colours, the card, the footer — stays the product's, so a branded message is still legible and still recognisably from this platform. An account that has set neither a logo nor a colour sends exactly the message it sent before tenant branding existed.

The message is signed with the product's name, not your account's. There is no per-account product name; if you need one, ask.

Campaign and assessment images

Separate from the account logo:

  • A campaign image is set in campaign Settings → Campaign Info, and takes precedence over the account logo on that campaign's public page.
  • An assessment image is set in assessment Settings → Assessment Info.
  • A campaign can also carry a Custom Document (PDF or DOCX) offered on its public page.

Your own profile picture

Your own Profile & Preferences page — click your name at the foot of the sidebar, it is not a sidebar entry — in the User Profile section. Two options again:

  • Avatar URL — paste a link to an image.
  • Or upload an avatar image — Upload image, same PNG/JPG and 5 MB limits. An uploaded image takes precedence over the URL, and Remove clears it.

The same storage caveat applies: if you see "Avatar uploaded; it renders once managed file storage is enabled for this environment", the file is stored but not yet servable.

Note that the name and picture shown in the sidebar footer come from your BIMei identity, which is authoritative for who you are across BIMei products. The avatar here is the account-scoped one. If you want the same picture everywhere, set it in BIMei — there is a "Manage your BIMei account" link at the bottom of the sidebar.

Limits and gotchas

  • PNG and JPG only. Not SVG, not WebP, not GIF.
  • 5 MB is enforced in the browser before upload.
  • You cannot set an avatar for someone else while inviting them. Avatars are set by each person from their own profile page, or come from BIMei.
